CDC Shows Youth Suicides in Utah Are Increasing

The second season of the show 13 Reasons Why (13RW) is set to air on NETFLIX on Friday, May 18, 2018. Many reputable national organizations have issued warnings about the potential harms of the series, especially among vulnerable young people.
The National Association of School Psychologists recommends vulnerable youth (such as those struggling with depression, anxiety, previous suicidal behavior, or trauma) not watch the series and most certainly not to watch the series alone. Read more.
Hope Walk September 2013
National Suicide Prevention Week was recognized by sponsoring a Hope Walk on September 6, 2013 that was a success and well attended. Guest speakers related their personal stories of loss to the participants.
Hope Festival, December 2014
Elks Club donates to Hope Squad
The local Elks Club, B.P.O.E. 1550 presented a generous donation of $1000 to be used for the Hope Squad Suicide Coalition and their continuous efforts to bring awareness to the communities in Carbon and Emery Counties.
The Hope Festival was held in the Greek Church in Price, with donations for door prizes and Bingo prizes from local merchants and generous supporters. The event offered free dinner to those who attended to play games, and there were many lucky Bingo winners who went home happy. All this to draw attention to suicide prevention.
